Icarus
“Two men: one barely old enough to be called
so
One a father
One a son
Their fate we all know”
Two men recount the cautionary tale: Icarus and Daedelus escape
the labyrinth – the guards escape the boredom – the
narrators watch everyone fall. A thought, a painting, an argument
– understanding.
“Whatever the age of the story, the outcome is still the
same”
Inspired by Pieter Brueghels painting The Fall of Icarus and society’s
failure to learn from its own mistakes, Icarus is not just an updating
of an allegory; it is a return to myth and form.
